DOUGLAS WALKER from the Self Publishing Partnership will be coming to talk to us about the world of self publishing on Tuesday 12th September 2017. The Self Publishing Partnership are a recommended provided of self publishing services by the 2017 Writers and Artists Yearbook.
ALICE CLARK-PLATTS, author of Bitter Fruits and The Taken, will be running a workshop for group members on plotting on Tuesday 18th July 2017 at 8pm in Woldingham.
MADELINE CRISP, Beauty Editor of the UK’s bestselling celebrity magazine new! and sister magazine Star will be joining us on 14th June 2016 to talk to us about pitching and writing non-fiction articles and the magazine market in general. Madeline was beauty columnist for the Daily Mirror for 5 years and has freelance written and styled for titles including Grazia, New Woman, Cosmopolitan, Sunday Express, Closer, Woman’s Own, Top Sante. She also works as media consultant on creative development, pack and catalogue copy for brands such as Mark Hill, Hugo Boss fragrances, & Dove.
DEBORAH LAWRENSON, author of The Sea Garden (among other novels), will be joining us at our meeting on 16th February 2016 to talk to us about her writing experience and answer any questions we may have. Deborah lives locally in Kent and kindly offered to come and speak to us after Sophie purchased her novel, The Lantern, at a Christmas market taking place at Penshurst Place in December 2015.
